  4. FIRST: We would like to point out FIRST that you may need to modify
  5.        your config.sys file to reflect the following:
  6.  
  7. Files = 50   ( or more )
  8. Buffers = 20 ( or more )
  9.  
  10. SECOND: We would like to point out that our program requires 450KB-RAM
  11.         to run.
  12.  
  13. If this presents a problem or if you get an error message you have a
  14. number of choices:
  15.  
  16. 1. Remove one or more TSR's (memory resident programs)
  17.    ** Simply add  REM  at the beginning of the line.
  18.  
  19. 2. Install a memory manager (we use 386MAX-Vers 7.0 on our Windows for
  20.    Workgroups network).
  21.  
  22. 3. Upgrade the memory in your PC ( If you have less than 512KB-RAM )
  23.  
  24. 4. Contact us directly 715/399-2758 and we will help you with specific
  25.    suggestions for your PC's setup.

  34. You have received the Shareware Version.... Allowing you to track your
  35. favorite animal's history and medical information. Please register
  36. your Shareware program by going to the REPORTS Menu and printing the
  37. ORDER-FORM and mailing it along with the $10 OR $19.95 Registration Fee to
  38. the address on the form.

  42. This version is for owners, breeders and handlers of animals that are
  43. SHOW QUALITY and participate on a regular basis in Competition.

  45. This version is NOT limited to DOGS & CATS! but rather
  46. adds choices for other animals. (( Should you have specific questions
  47. prior to ordering, please feel free to call us: 715/399-2758)).

  49. This program was written with the idea that it would be run on PC's
  50. with color monitors, if you do not have a color monitor, some parts of
  51. the program may be a little difficult to see? as we have used color
  52. monitors since 1984 we no longer write for MONOCHROME.

  54. Shareware registration is only $ 10.00.
  55.  
  56. This software was written using a DOS-4GL running on a Packard-Bell
  57. 486DX2-50Mhz with SVGA monitor, 2-850MB Hard-disks and a Conner Tape
  58. backup system. This 486 acts as a file server on a 3 station Windows
  59. for Workgroups network. The other PC's are 486DX-33Mhz PC's.

  61. The Main PC uses 8MB-Ram the others use 8MB-Ram also.

  63. We utilize Intel-SatisFAXtion 400(internal) FAX-Modems with UART
  64. buffers and 512KB-Ram on-board, running under Windows 3.1 and Windows
  65. for Workgroups Version 3.11.

  73. We write all of our software with the idea that it will run on at
  74. least a 386SX, Although our programs will run on older IBM-AT's and
  75. XT's however, please note that our software in many cases is CPU-Time
  76. sensitive, meaning it will run faster on faster CPU's.

  78. Please be advised that currently (4/964) Intel is pushing their PENTIUM
  79. grade processors which will eventually make XT's, AT's, 386SX's,
  80. 386DX's as well as 486SX's OBSOLETE.

  103. General Information ------------

  105. This program can reside & run in ANY DOS Directory on ANY DOS hard-drive!
  106. -------------------------------------------------------------------------

  108. The following instructions explain making a directory and installing your
  109. program into/onto that directory.
  110.  
  111. From a DOS prompt...........
  112.  
  113. md \anyname                ( This makes a directory, hard-drive of choice )
  114.  
  115. copy kapets.zip \anyname   ( Copies main file to that directory )
  116.  
  117. cd \anyname                ( Takes you to ANYNAME Directory )
  118.  
  119. TYPE pet_show              ( Opens compressed-File / Program files )
  120.  
  121. PETS   (PETS.EXE)          ( Starts the program / Goes to MAIN-MENU )

  124. Using Windows, simply use your FILE MANAGER to create a Directory
  125. and copy kapets.zip to that directory. You will still need to run
  126. PKUNZIP to Un-Zip the KAPETS.ZIP program files.

  130. any questions or problems.

  132. Our program is compatible with just about any known printer, in addition
  133. you can view all reports, print all reports, Print multiple copies, or
  134. save them to an ASCII file that will allow you to import them into your
  135. favorite word-processor and re-design them to your liking!
